A Story of purpose
There was no business plan. No career strategy.
Only a simple prayer — that my life and purpose would be written by God.
After retiring from a successful career in the marble and stone industry, I entered a season of quiet listening. I asked the Lord to lead me into something new, something rooted in His purpose rather than my own. During that time of waiting, He stirred something I never expected: a passion for cooking.
With no formal training, I began making everything from scratch — biscuits and gravy, gourmet sandwiches, late-night experiments — guided by curiosity, simple ingredients, and the quiet leading of the Holy Spirit. What began as a spark slowly revealed itself as a calling.
When I moved to Uvalde, where my family has lived for six generations, it felt like both a homecoming and a beginning. In a town marked by resilience and unity, the spirit of Uvalde Strong welcomed me. What started as small plate sales from my home grew into catering for ranches, and eventually into the restaurant you’re sitting in now.
Here at Chef Ryan’s, everything is made from scratch — every sauce, every seasoning blend, every dressing. We source fresh ingredients, honor local roots, and cook with purpose. Each dish reflects faith, heritage, and the joy of gathering around a table.
